Jessie Claire

I don't know that even Disney could pull off Jessie as adorible as Miss Claire.  Before Halloween, we did a little photo shoot at Aunt Nanette's house, since she has horses.  What a cutie!

"Neon Nights" ~ HTRS Prom 2011

The Juniors of HTRS sent the Seniors out in style! This year's theme was "Neon Nights" and the junior class decorated in a fun motif of glow in the dark and black light glowing objects.

Before the prom, I got to tag along with Tim and Lizzy as they cruised around Southeast Nebraska in a '72 Dodge Charger!

Princess Claire Turns Three

Claire is one of the most energetic 3-year-olds I know.  And so darn cute, too!  We had a blast hanging out at Willow Lake a couple weeks ago.  I don't know that I've ever enjoyed running across bridges, throwing rocks in the lake, puddle jumping and slipper-sliding so much. Check out our fun:

Time for Tea

This past week has been extremely cold.  For example, when I drove home from work Tuesday morning, the temperature was -9 degrees, but the wind chill was more than 30 below!  It was DEFINATELY a tea day.  When I woke up from my day-long nap, the first thing I reached for was my tea kettle;  the second was my fabulous Vera Bradley mug.  It's amazing how just a little hot tea or coffee can warm up your life!

The Best Birthday Party Ever

Here's to getting back on track...

Two weekends ago, we celebrated the birthdays of my 3-year-old cousin Hailey and my 18-year-old cousin Preston. After the nicities of cake, ice cream and presents, the kid cousins whipped out their nurf guns (much to the surprise of some of the adults...). As an assault of nurf "bullets" flew through the house, my 5-year-old cousin exclaimed, "This is the BEST birthday party EVER!"

God's Glitter

The way the morning sun sparkles, bouncing off freshly fallen snow is so captivating!

When I was in junior high I was the girl that wore glitter makeup every day.  As a cheerleader in high school, I loved the excuse to wear glitter once again.  Sadly, it seems the working world just doesn't embrace "sparkles" like sporting events do...

I don't like the cold and darkness of winter and the travel headaches the snow brings, but I do LOVE the sparkle the morning after a good accumulating snow.  Thank you God for natural glitter!

No Picnic Today

Recently I discovered this fun trail and nature area right next to Target. It was just beautiful - untouched after this week's snow. Can't wait to have a relaxing Sunday afternoon picnic here this spring!

A Little Green

After 8 inches of snow fell earlier this week, I went in search of a little green.  It's nice to see there are still a few signs of life in this bitter cold!

I hope through the cold and storms of winter, you are able to stay cozy and warm with the ones you love!

Capturing Time

Although I don't really do the New Year's resolution thing, I decided on New Years day that I am going to try a 365 project.

After doing some research, I decided my venture will technically be a "52 project".  I'll be posting one picture each week.  It's going to be real life - my real life - that week.

I want to learn and grow as a photographer, and this project will force me to try new and different things.  Hopefully by this time next year, I will be helping others by creating something physical from important and beautiful memories that can be cherished forever.   And it'll be fun too!  :-)

Here's this week's pic:  Capturing Time.

Happy New Year!
